Folks – I have a multi-pronged attack for solving our drug problem. But the entire plan rests on the base of getting these offenders to understand that God doesn’t want them to take drugs. So I’m going to get the Christian prison programs into all our jails and prisons. Heck, I’m going to start these druggies on God’s word before they are even convicted!
Here’s my plan:
1) Put people arrested for drug possession into Drug Court program even before they’ve been convicted of any crime
2) Implement religious programs like that provided by the Salvation Army for those incarcerated or arrested for drugs
3) Continue arresting people for using marijuana – even medical use
4) Treat young drug offenders with disrespect:
As a Judge I was known for having upset defense attorneys for the way I talked to the juvenile defendants. I know I was supplying them with discipline and tough love by yelling at them. I know that young people really appreciate that.
I am famous for my tough rulings for drug offenses. Corrections Corporations of America loves me.
